Some Anecdotes On Steve Jobs

I read a lot of Steve Jobs’ anecdotes this morning. These are some of the greatest ones:

  • Allen Paltrow met Steve Jobs when he was 12
  • Marc Hedlund’s experience in an internal meeting with Steve.
  • Google’s Vic Gundotra got a call from Steve on a Sunday morning.
  • John Gruber’s piece on Steve Jobs’ greatest product.

Finally, Steve’s commencement speech in Stanford university in 2005:

Steve Jobs Is A Man Who Wanted To Change The World, And Did That.

Back in 1976 no one thought that each of us will have a computer on our desk, but Steve Jobs did. He had a vision that each one of us will have a computer in some capacity that we use in our daily life. Fast forward almost thirty years, it sure did happen; firstly with desktop computer & the mouse, laptops, iPhones, and finally iPads.

There was a saying: “Everyone who’s been in a shower has an idea, it’s those who dried off and make it happen who change the world”. I think Steve is one of them. It’s really sad to see naysayers who read the news and say things like “the devil’s finally out of the company”. If it’s not for him all of us may not be using technologies we’re using now.

Thank you Steve, you have inspired me and heavily influenced me in what I do. The world will not be the same without your visions.

God bless you.
